Description

This one day workshop teaches the basics of transferring plant images onto paper and introduction to fabric transfers.  You will learn about the chemistry of eco-dyeing, what works and what doesn’t, the use of mordants with dyes– both pre-dyeing papers and using dye pots to transfer colors.
We will spend the day both dyeing and steaming papers, using both tiles and dowels to “bundle”, then unwrapping the results in the same day!  Students can also bring organic fabrics, like silk, cotton, linen or wool, to make extra fabric textures to incorporate into their final work.
